Signs you need dumpster rental

  • 01A remodel or roof job will fill up over days or weeks
  • 02You want to clean out at your own pace, a weekend at a time
  • 03A move or an estate sale will leave a lot behind
  • 04A yard project will make a pile of dirt, sod or green waste
  • 05Contractors need somewhere to throw debris as they work
  • 06The junk is too much for a single trip but you’d rather load it yourself

How our dumpster rental works

Our containers ride on hooklift trailers. The trailer backs up, tilts and slides the container off onto the ground, and later hooks it and pulls it back up full.

You fill it at your own pace. When it is full, or the job is done, you call or text and we pick it up and take it to be sorted.

If you would rather not do the loading at all, our junk removal crew does it for you in one visit. Our dumpster rental or junk removal comparison shows which one fits which job.

What can go in, and what can’t

Fine: household junk, furniture, remodel debris, drywall, wood, roofing, carpet, yard waste and boxes.

Heavy, so ask first: dirt, rock, concrete, tile and brick. They fill the weight limit long before the container looks full, so they go in their own load or a part load.

Not allowed: paint, chemicals, oil, batteries and other household hazardous waste, which go to the county’s programs (Ventura County hazardous waste); TVs, monitors and computers, which are e-waste (Ventura County e-waste); and anything that may contain asbestos.

Mattresses and appliances can go in, but they are separated at drop-off because they are recycled on their own.

Where the container sits

Most containers go in a driveway or on a flat spot on the property, where the trailer can back straight in. You tell us where it can and can’t go.

A container on a public street or sidewalk usually needs a permit from the city or the county road department, so check before you ask for street placement. On a construction project, ask your building department whether your recycling plan names an authorized hauler, because in unincorporated Ventura County construction debris from permitted projects must go to a sorting facility, an authorized hauler or be reused (Ventura County C&D program).

Questions

Dumpster rental questions

Not sure what your job needs? Call or text photos any hour and we will tell you.

Call (805) 794-2842
How does a hooklift dumpster work?

The trailer tilts and slides the container onto the ground, and later hooks it and pulls it back up full.

Can I put dirt or concrete in the dumpster?

Ask first. Dirt and concrete are heavy and fill the weight limit quickly, so they usually go in their own load.

What can’t go in a dumpster?

Paint, chemicals, oil, batteries, TVs and computers, and anything that may contain asbestos. Those go to county programs instead.

Can the dumpster go on the street?

Usually only with a permit from your city or the county road department. Most go in a driveway.

What container sizes do you have?

Call or text us with the job and we will tell you which container fits it.
