Hauling for dirt, concrete and debris
When the pile is too heavy for a pickup, we bring the dump truck, the trailers and a machine to load them, and take it to the right yard.
Signs you need hauling
- 01A pile of dirt from a dig or a planter bed is sitting in the yard
- 02An old patio or walkway was broken up and the concrete has to go
- 03Rock, gravel or roofing has to leave the job site
- 04A cleared lot left a mountain of brush and branches
- 05A contractor finished and left the debris for you
- 06You need loads moved off a property on a schedule, not just once
What we haul
Hauling is the heavy side of the business. Where junk removal is couches and boxes, hauling is material that is measured by the load:
Dirt and rock: soil from excavation, grading or a trench, rock and gravel, and old landscaping.
Concrete and asphalt: broken slabs, walkways, driveways and block walls, which are recycled separately from trash when they are clean.
Green waste: branches, brush, palm fronds, stumps and the piles a land clearing or brush clearing job leaves behind.
Construction and demolition debris: lumber, drywall, roofing, tile and the mixed loads a remodel or teardown makes. More on our debris removal page.
The trucks, trailers and machines
Heavy hauling is mostly a question of having the right equipment there. Our photos show the setup we bring: a dump truck, dump trailers behind pickups, orange Diamond C equipment trailers, a Bobcat E45 mini excavator and a Bobcat T770 track loader.
The machine loads the truck right where the pile is, so nobody shovels dirt into a wheelbarrow for a day. On a tight lot or a side yard, the mini excavator fits where a bigger machine can’t, and the loader moves material across the property to where the truck can reach it.
For a job that fills over a few days, a roll-off container can be dropped off and picked up full. That is on our dumpster rental page.
Why weight matters more than size
A load of dirt or concrete weighs many times more than the same pile of furniture. Trucks and trailers have weight limits, and dumps and recycling yards charge heavy material differently from trash, so a small pile of broken concrete can cost more to haul than a big pile of boxes.
Keeping loads clean helps. Clean concrete, clean dirt and green waste each have their own recycling yards, and mixing them with trash means the whole load is treated as trash. We sort as we load when the job allows it.
In unincorporated Ventura County, construction and demolition material from a permitted project must go to a sorting facility, an authorized hauler or be reused on site, under county Ordinance 4590. The county lists three sorting facilities: Del Norte in Oxnard, Gold Coast in Ventura and the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center (Ventura County C&D recycling). Our guide to the dumps and recycling yards in Ventura County covers each one.
How a hauling job runs
Tell us what and how much
Photos of the pile and where a truck can park tell us which truck, which trailer and which machine to bring.
A price for the job
The price depends on the material, the number of loads and how far the machine has to carry it.
Machine loading
The loader or excavator fills the truck from the pile, and we clean up what spills.
To the right yard
Each kind of material goes where it is accepted, with receipts if your project needs them.
What decides the price of hauling
Hauling is priced by the load, and the material decides most of it. See our what junk removal costs in Ventura County, and why for how loads and dump fees add up.
| What it depends on | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The material | Dirt, rock and concrete are heavy and have their own dump and recycling fees. |
| Number of loads | How many truck or trailer loads it takes to clear the pile. |
| Clean or mixed | Clean concrete or green waste costs less to drop off than a mixed load. |
| Machine time | Whether a loader or excavator is needed to fill the truck. |
| Access | How close the truck can get, and whether the material has to be moved to it first. |

Not sure what your job needs? Call or text photos any hour and we will tell you.
Call (805) 794-2842Do you haul dirt?
Yes. Dirt from excavation, grading, trenches and planter beds is one of the main things we haul, loaded by machine.
Can you haul away broken concrete?
Yes. Broken slabs, walkways, driveways and block walls. Clean concrete goes to recycling, which usually costs less than mixing it with trash.
Do you bring the machine to load it?
Yes. We bring a mini excavator or a track loader when the pile is too big to load by hand.
Can you haul green waste and brush?
Yes. Branches, brush, palm fronds and stumps go to composting or green waste yards, not the landfill.
Do you work with contractors?
Yes. We haul off job sites for builders, landscapers and remodelers as well as homeowners.
